According to the report, eleven Chinese and Russian military aircraft entered South Korea's air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Nov. 29. An ADIZ is a broader area than a country's airspace in which it tries to control aircraft for security reasons.

The report said that the incident occurred over four hours, prompting South Korea to launch fighter jets, South Korea's military said. The Russian and Chinese aircraft entered the area in sequence, and exited without incident or intruding South Korea's airspace, Seoul said. South Korea's military had identified the aircraft before they entered the zone and deployed air force jets, it said.

The report added that the incident happened as the Russian Defence Minister arrived in North Korea for an official visit on Nov. 29 amid deepening military cooperation between the two nations. Andrei Belousov met with his North Korean counterpart in a string of high-level meetings lined up on the tour, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
