According to the report, China sends mystery cargo planes to Iran after Israeli strikes, The Telegraph reports. At least three Chinese cargo planes have flown to Iran in three days despite official statements that they were headed to Luxembourg, raising concerns about possible military aid to Tehran as tensions with Israel escalate.
The report also stated that following the recent Israeli strike on Iran, China sent a series of Boeing 747 cargo planes to the Islamic Republic. Flight monitoring data showed the planes departing from Chinese cities, including Shanghai, flying through Central Asia and disappearing from radar near the Iranian border. The flight plans listed their final destination as Luxembourg, but the planes were not detected in European airspace.
The report added that experts are concerned about what the planes were transporting. Experts note that such planes are often used to transport military equipment."These shipments are bound to generate a lot of interest because of the expectation that China might do something to help Iran," said Andrea Ghiselli, a lecturer at the University of Exeter.
In addition to the report, including up to two million barrels of oil daily, remains Beijing's priority partner in the region." The collapse of the regime in Tehran would be a blow to China's interests in the Middle East," Ghiselli noted. Despite this, Beijing is likely to be careful not to damage relations with the US, especially amid the ongoing trade war. Cargolux, which operates the flights, denies using Iranian airspace but has not provided information on the contents of the cargo.
