Chinese AI model, DeepSeek becomes the most downloaded LLM on app store?

A large language AI model called DeepSeek has gained popularity within few days of it's launch as it has become the most downloaded AI model app on Playstore. This gives OpenAi, the parent company of ChatGPT cause to worry.

What do you think of this competition from China in the large language model sphere?

The selling point for DeepSeek is that it is incredibly cheap. If course, it is from China and has to be cheap.

I have read so much about the DeepSeek AI in the last 24 hours. I think all those hype are marketing gimmicks.
