The report said that the Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Monday announced the recent arrest of a Chinese computer hacker who worked at a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub raided by authorities in Porac, Pampanga last month. In a statement, BI fugitive search unit (FSU) chief Rendel Ryan Sy identified the foreigner as 40-year-old Lin Qiude, who was arrested on July 20 inside a posh resort inside the Poro Point Freeport in San Fernando City, La Union.
The report added that this Chinese fugitive is the subject of a warrant of detention issued by the public prosecutor in Anxi County in Fujian province where he was charged with fraud.
According to the report, this fugitive is responsible for hacking the bank accounts of victims based in the US, Middle East, and Europe.
The Chinese national is now detained at the Bureau of Immigration custodial facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation proceedings and filing of cases against him.
