According to the report, in the Pokrovsk direction, the Russians are revealing yet another dark side of the war: after a comrade’s death, they search the bodies and take all valuables – money, phones, equipment components, dog tags, and other personal belongings. Such facts were recorded by the partisan movement Atesh, which operates among the servicemen of the 30th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Federation. According to the movement’s Telegram channel, they confirm cases of looting and say that such actions are systemic within the unit. For them, the death of a comrade in arms is an excuse to profit, not a reason for pity, the partisans say.

It has been recalled that the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, announced on November 30 to President Putin that Russian forces had captured the cities of Pokrovsk and Vovchansk. However, the Ukrainian side strongly denies this information. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, rejected the reports of the capture of Pokrovsk and Vovchansk. The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, called these statements by the Russian side about control over these settlements an act of raising diplomatic stakes for the Western audience.

The report added that Vovchansk and Kupyansk, which were previously claimed to be captured, remain under Ukrainian control. Putin was wrong to say, that the Russian troops now occupy Pokrovsk.
