Business people should be able to understand the difference between the consumer market (B2C) and the business market (B2B), because these two markets are the key to success which will influence business people to develop strategies, plans, make business decisions and interact with customers. Apart from that, understanding the market will also be very important in product development, business growth, customer satisfaction, competitive advantage and resource efficiency.
 
Every business is either serving the B2B or the B2C markets. Marketing methods differ though. While B2C markets require promotional activities, B2B markets work more with generating leads that would compel another business to patronize.
