Copying the design of products of a competitor with little variations. Ethical or not?

There are companies that copy the product design of their competitors with little variations. They do this to survive in the market.

Is it ethically wrong for a business to copy the product design of their competitors, even though it is not exactly the same?

It is better to draw inspiration from competitors to create your own design than copy the creativity of another business.

If it's not exactly the same, then it's simply drawing inspiration from the design. There are times where I have been inspired by other designs.

Be sure that you are not copying the core elements that makes the design. It is not just unethical but legally unacceptable.
