If one is commuting with his or her car, they have to spend money on fuel, maintenance, insurance and parking. When you add all of these expenses in a month, do you really think that it is cheaper to drive your own car?

Driving your own car is not always cheaper, in most cases, especially when it comes to traveling to another state, the amount of money you would spend on fuel alone is not up to what you would pay for a public car. Driving your own car is just more convenient.

Having your own car is cheaper because when you're in control of your driving, you can trust yourself to drive safely but in a public vehicle your life is in the hands of a person you barely know. If you get involved in an accident, your expenses will be more than if you'd own a car.

The cost of committing is actually very high especially when one drives their own cars for that matter. Unlike on the public transportation sector whereby the cost of fuel is shared among the passengers, the private car owner incur all the fuel, car maintance costs and things of the sought.
