Creating Wordpress Site Locally

Do you create wordpress site locally on your computer? Have you tried creating wordpress site offline? Well, I have done this a couple of times but my favorite way is by installing wordpress directly on the server?

I haven't tried creating wordpress site offline. I wonder if it is stressful to do so.
