Delayed salary: How do you cope?

There are sometimes that an organization can delay the salaries of workers for about a week before they can pay. It can be because of one factor or the other.

As an employee, how would you cope to survive when salaries are being slightly delayed? What options are available to you?

Because the salary is automatically paid through a bank account, I have never experienced a delay in receiving my salary, if it does happen, then I can at least use emergency funds, sell assets or investment instruments and borrow money from parents, siblings.

Delayed salaries is the very reason why some people fall into debts. I agree with what others have said about falling back on savings when salaries are delayed.

When I was working full time, my salary was automatically deposited into my bank account. So, I have not experienced delay in salary payment. Should this happen, I would use my savings.

In cases like this, I usually fall back on my savings, this is where having a savings no matter how small comes into handy or simply have multiple source of income.

My nephew didn't got salary for last two months. He is living with parents so he can afford it another month but I could not. I have some savings but I must have regular income.
