According to the report, Saab has signed a contract with Denmark’s defense procurement agency for the delivery of Carl-Gustaf M4 anti-armor rifles, ammunition, and training equipment. Deliveries under the 510-million Swedish krona ($54 million) deal are planned for 2026-2028.

The report also stated that Denmark has used the man-portable Carl-Gustaf, locally called the Dysekanon, since the 1970s, and added the M4 variant to its arsenal in 2022. Introduced in 2014, the M4 weighs under 7 kilograms (15 pounds) and is shorter than 1 meter (39 inches), offering enhanced maneuverability in urban warfare environments.

The report said that it is designed for greater agility and tactical flexibility. The recoilless rifle incorporates improved ergonomics, including a Picatinny rail-mounted front grip and shoulder rest for a customizable fit. The Carl-Gustaf M4 can fire a variety of ammunition, including anti-armor, anti-structure, multi-role, anti-personnel, and smoke or illumination rounds.

The report added that the compatibility with programmable rounds like the HE 448 and the Guided Multipurpose Munition provides dismounted soldiers with advanced engagement options and greater battlefield effectiveness.

The guided Carl-Gustaf round enables precise engagement of both stationary and moving targets at distances of 2,500 meters (8,202 feet) or more.
