There are some places that one doesn't need as much money to survive compared to how much is needed to survive in some other places. The advantage is that living in a place that has a lower cost of living, you won't have to spend much.

But I am sure that there are bad sides to that too. What could be the disadvantage of living in a place that has lower cost of living?

Living in a low-cost area has its pleasures but also its challenges. Often services like hospitals, schools or even the internet are substandard or not easily available. Jobs can also be hard to find and salaries are not desirable. People like to say life is easy but if you look closely you may find yourself struggling more. Infrastructure development is slow and entertainment or social activities are few. So before you move to a low-cost area it is good to weigh the real cost of living and not just the price.
