Do cliffhangers keep you engaged with a television show?

In my case, cliffhangers are effective at keeping me engaged and interested in a television show. When an episode ends with something exciting or surprising, I feel the need to return and find out what happens next. What can you say?

The use of cliffhanger is a very effective tool that helps keep the audience on their feet to want to watch more. There are several times several times i have spent the whole night watching a tv series cause whenever i say i would stop watching in the next episode, it often ends in a cliffhanger that makes me watch the next one.

Yes to be honest, that is what even makes me want to to watch it cause I'm already curious and will desperately want to know how it ends
