For me for the sake of protecting my phone's against malware and viruses l prefer downloading the apps from the play stores rather than receiving them from other external sources.
Do you accept receiving files from other devices or downloading your own?

I also prefer to download apps from reliable sources and from the playstore, for example if someone else sends me an apk file I don't download it, but I search other download sources to download something.
You can often do a search on the reliable source (like play store) for the file you want to download instead of the questionable source you found it on to keep yourself safe.
I do not accept files from other devices willingly, though some hackers may be downloading files on my computer , smartphones without my knowledge or permission to steal data or other reasons.

Do I prefer downloading mine, but there are times when I also accept from others as well. It depends on what am collecting though.

I normally download apps via the App Store. I avoid downloading files from other sources since they may contain viruses.
I prefer downloading files than receiving from other phones. I don't want my phone to crash. Moreover, i don't have antivirus, though i don't really think antivirus are actually working.
I prefer to download stuffs for myself. I am not a movie freak. That would have been the only thing I would have had to get from someone but other resources I download online, you rarely find other people that have it.
Most of the time, I download them from the internet, and even if I have to share them with friends, I don't send them directly; instead, I share them on Telegram, and we upload them from there. its more safe and easy.
It is very rarely that I get to receive files from others. I always make sure to download 95% of my files myself.
For me l really like downloading my own files and apps from the Google play store to avoid malware and viruses
