Recently, Dangote Group, a renowned business in my country asked government for monopoly. This has led to backlash with people saying that he must compete in the market. This company is employing thousands of people.

Do you believe such a business should follow and compete?

As far as that business exists in a capitalist economy, they must come out and compete with it's mates. They should not be looking for easy monopoly. It is easy to thrive under monopoly.

In theory, all businesses should compete in the market or marketplace, especially to prevent imperfect competition, but as government officials behind the company will make efforts to determine how their company can dominate the market, so that retail entrepreneurs will find it difficult to compete or enter the market.
