It seems that the most popular and user friendly forums are powered by Xenforo. Despite that, phpBB is one of the most extensively used forum software.

Looking at features and usability, do you think phpBB to be a second tier forum software when compared to Xenforo?

phpBB may not have all the bells and whistles of Xenforo, but it's known for its stability, security, and extensive customization options.

It’s more so of a beginner’s forum software than anything else. It gets the job done.
