Do You Hold e-Money?

A few years ago, after attending a banquet in a building, my car could not get out of the parking area, because I did not have e-Money, while the e-wallet app was on the other mobile phone that was left at home. The parking lot was very quiet, only my car had not come out, the clock showed almost midnight, I chatted with the parking attendant, looking for a solution, finally I remembered, having a Flazz card (for public transportation), after being tested by the parking attendant it turned out to be connected so that finally I could get out of the parking area and go home, since then I always carry e-money in my wallet.

I don't understand what e money is. And why it could be that important to carry it about. A little more explanation would do.

E-money is in the form of a card like a debit card, where a certain amount is stored in it (chip), this card does not have a PIN so it can be used by anyone, to pay for electronic payments such as trains, buses, parking, toll roads, if the money in it runs out then we have to top it up via ATM, mbanking or at a minimarket, emoney is also issued by banks.

I have various e-wallets I make use of though, I use them to save some extra funds or for a specific issues.

I use Octopus which is a smart card. I can use it to take public transportation, make purchases at participating merchants .

We don't have the e money technology yet in my country. We only have debit cards to use in point of sale machines. I would fancy having an e money.
