Of course yes, but most of them aren't usually better than the films themselves. For instance the Blade Runner PC game is one of the best adventure titles of all time for me but still can't reach the revolution film that is based on.
I used to play Resident Evil, a video game based on the movie, when I was younger and I really enjoyed it. The game had a great storyline and I found it very engaging.
Yeah, most of the time, if a game is based on a movie, it will be a good game with good themes and history; the developer only works on the graphics and on the gameplay since the history is already written.
For me it depends, if the movie was one that I really liked, then I don't mind playing the game, but in most cases I usually prefer playing fresh games.
