Do you think booking fee prevents customer booking and no show?

There are certain times that clients can book the services of a professional or artisan. They fix a date for the job and end up not showing up on the set date. Do you think a booking fee would prevent this "No Show" from customers that booked to patronize the business?

Booking fee helps to make customers committed to patronize you after the negotiations. They have already paid a fee and won't want it wasted.

Setting a booking fee might not prevent this completely, but it we greatly reduce it. As most of them would not want to waste their money.

I think.to a large extent it would. I know it might not completely erase it but it would help in the long run.
