Do you think people should place a price to donate blood?

Everything is monetized now. A close person to me is making some good money by selling blood. I just feel disturbed. Do you think that having to sell blood is not humane? What do you think of this? Should one sell blood?

For me it should be a No, people generally should not place a price on donating blood. Blood donation should be a selfless act of giving because Paid donors may be more likely to conceal risky behaviors or health conditions that could jeopardize the blood supply, leading to potential harm for recipients.

The argument would be that hospitals sell blood. So people would want to cash in too. But I think it is humane practice. I can't donate blood for pay.

That should be a private issue if you want to donate blood for money then don't let people know about it ,it should be between you and your doctor,so that it won't affect those who want to make free donation to help the needy

I can't fault those that donate blood for pay. It is their call to make. People might need money and see blood donation as a way to quickly raise money.

In my country its free to donate blood. But to get a blood transfusion you have to pay. SO honestly i think its not fair since i donate for free then have to pay to get assistance when i need blood donation.

I think someone already raised that on this thread. Some people would rather never donate because of that kind of arrangement.

At the end of the day it depends on each individual, if am able to help donate blood, I won't charge but if the person decides to give me money then that's the person's choice, then again if those donating decides to charge, that's their choice as well.

In my city, selling blood is not allowed unless you do it underground. Donating blood is a humane practice.

If I am donating directly to a person that needs blood, I won't sell. If I am donating to the blood bank of a hospital, I am selling it.
