As per my knowledge those Apps that keep askisng for personal data in order to download those Apps could be a way to expose onself.

True. Granting such apps access to too much data is risky. Even giving out too much information on Facebook is very risky

I can well manage my media presence without adding Apps to my account The way Sites keep asking us to add Apps shows they benefit by it
