Do you use additional memory for your smartphones?

Often the free memory of smartphones or tablets reduces if more apps are installed. Do you increase the phone memory installing additional memory like sd cards?

I also make use of an external memory card for my smartphone. I usually format my phone from time to time, so I always move my important documents there.

So far I have not installed additional memory on my smartphone, I have a trick to routinely delete unused data so that my phone memory does not fill up quickly.
