Remote work has become very popular nowadays. And some companies are actually allowing some of their staff to work remotely.

Do you think a company would save money in cost of operations if it allows 80% of it's staff to work remotely? How does that cost savings happen?

Many companies have to produce product, and doing this from home is difficult/impossible. For office workers, the problem is that many are not setup to be able to do it, and people are just not used to being productive from home. From a costly-savings, little is actually saved. Rent/mortgage still needs to be paid, lights/heat/AC still need to be on unless no one is in the office, etc. Very little will actually be saved.

The company might be able to lower the salaries of those that do secretarial work from home because they don't pay for commuting.
