Imagine you are an employer and you found out that your staff has reported you to their professional union because of a something your business organization did and he or she did not like. Would you consider it that the staff has sabotaged your business organization?

I’ve wondered about this before, and it’s not easy to take it without emotion. As an employer, you may feel betrayed, but it’s also important to look at it from a different perspective—perhaps the employee felt they had no other way to be heard.

Reporting to a trade union doesn’t have to be a blow. Sometimes it’s a way to seek justice or a change in the work environment. It can be an opportunity to learn, make amends, and rebuild trust.

Rather than treating it as an attack, it’s best to talk to the employee. Open communication brings solutions and strengthens relationships at work. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow as a leader.

staff that is known to report the organization he or she is working for to the union would be sacked by the organization. Such things are done anonymously
It is sad to see employees afraid to speak out for fear of being fired. I believe that the right to report or seek help from a union is part of a healthy and equitable work environment.
