Does dark mode consume more power and drain smartphone batteries faster?

I was experimenting with dark mode on my phone today. And it seems like my battery ended up draining faster than when I am using light mode.

Who has experienced this too? What is the explanation to the battery running faster in dark mode than in light mode?

I have never experienced this before. Dark mode works well on my smartphone and laptop, and it does not cause their batteries to drain easily.

It is not because of dark mode that runs the battery down. Probably, there are apps that are running underground . Dark mode is designed to save battery.

I think it's the other way round, dark mode actually helps when it comes to saving battery. There is probably some apps running in the background.

Truth is that darkness saves a lot of battery, especially if you have an OLED screen. Those background apps are the ones that are sucking up your battery without you even knowing it. Try closing the ones you don't use and see a big difference in your phone. That dark mode trick is really smart for maintaining battery life all day long on the go.

I don't think that dark mode consumes more battery from my experience. Light mode uses more power.
