Does people using VPN to access a site affect the Ad Sense revenue of a site?

Some people are always using VPNs to access some sites. And I see some site owners frown against the usage of VPN to access the site.

Does it mean that using VPN to access a site affect the earnings from Ad Sense for that site? Is there any disadvantages of VPN usage for a site?

Well, if the user does not interact with the ads (does not click ads), it does not affect the well being of the site that is running adsnese ads.

When you look at how paid to post forums present it, they make it seem that VPN really kills the site and that VPN traffic is not counted.
