There are so many variables that affect the ranking of a site in search engines. We can talk of contents quality and the likes. But what I would love to know is if the age of a domain has an impact on SEO ranking in the sense that older domains rank higher?

Yes, the age of a domain can impact SEO rankings, but it’s usually a minor factor compared to other elements like content quality, backlink profile, and user experience. Older domains may have an advantage if they’ve built authority and a strong backlink profile over time. However, a new domain with high-quality content, effective SEO practices, and relevant backlinks can often rank competitively.

The domain age itself is less important than the history and authority the domain has developed. If an older domain has consistently provided value, it can have a slight edge, but Google primarily focuses on relevancy, quality, and user satisfaction.
