The length of a content do contribute to the ranking of site in SERAP. It is generally believed that the more the words of a content,  the more it will contain more information. But sometimes,  it is not always the case.  Some lengthy contents contain trash and a lot of repetitive words. Google webcrawlers use certain parameters which they have not reveal to webmasters to check the value of a content. While length pays a part in increasing the SEO of a site, it may not achieve the expect effect if the lengthy content does provide relevant information
