Does using your smartphone close to a gas cooker or cylinder cause explosion?

I want to get this straight. People in my country are always screaming at me for using pressing my smartphone close to a gas cooker. They say it would cause explosion. Does using smartphones close to a gas cooker or cylinder cause explosion?

I have heard a lot of rumors and even news about this but I don't know how true it is, but i think it might be possible.

I do not have any idea about it, we don't use here a gas cooker. We use a rice cooker. I'm always manipulating my celfon beside the rice cooker but it doesn't explode. I don't know about gas cooker. I do research on this.

This has been a common scare point here in my city. I don't think it is much of a lie or truth. No phone manufacturer has spoken about this.

I am not really sure, but it could be true. It's better to be safe. You could avoid using your smartphone near the gas stove.

It's rare, but possible if there's a gas leak and a spark. Best to avoid phones near open gas flames.

I have taken the precautions though. It takes nothing to just stay safe regarding this. No need to try and see if it is true or not.

There is a reason why people are not allowed to make calls in gas refill stations. Think it has to do with this.

You better stay away from gas cylinders when you are using your mobile phone it doesn't matter whether they are right or wrong. Don't get yourself in mess where you are trying to show off your knowledge

If it happened in your country it's better not to use a phone while you're near a gas stove, It's better to be safe than sorry.
