The Department of Health is issuing a public health advisory to warn the public about the possibility of flu-like illnesses during the cold weather season, which is anticipated to persist until February. Despite reports of individuals experiencing body aches, colds, and fevers, the DOH has observed no significant increase in influenza-like cases. There have been recorded 5,789 cases of influenza-like illnesses as of 18th of January.
DOH recommends that the people regularly wash their hands, keep a balanced diet, and engage in other healthy practices. In addition, if a person experiences influenza-like symptoms, they are advised to wear a face mask or stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus.
