According to the report, US President-elect Donald Trump has threatened a 100% tariff on BRICS countries, if they undercut the US dollar or replace it with another currency for international transactions.
The report said that US President Trump's remarks followed a BRICS meeting in October that discussed boosting non-dollar transactions. The BRICS grouping comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and other countries. "
The report also stated that the idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER. We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. economy," wrote Trump in a scathing post on Truth Social. The BRICS grouping comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and other countries.
I believe the US Dollar remains strong as it is the only currency that is adopted by many countries like my country, the beloved Philippines. All remittances from the OFWs anywhere in the world are converted to US dollars before reaching the Central Bank of the Philippines.
