According to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth , he said that on Wednesday that the U.S. carried out another strike on an alleged drug boat in the Eastern Pacific, killing four people. Earlier today, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on yet another narco-trafficking vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) in the Eastern Pacific.

It said that this vessel, like all the others, was known by the US intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics. Four male narco-terrorists were aboard the vessel and were killed during the strike, which was conducted in international waters.

No U.S. forces were harmed in this strike. The Western Hemisphere is no longer a haven for narco-terrorists bringing drugs to our shores to poison Americans. The Department of War will continue to hunt them down and eliminate them wherever they operate.

From my perspective, military actions in defense of the fight against drug trafficking are understandable, given the danger these organizations pose to security and public health. Eliminating vessels linked to terrorist organizations and drug trafficking in international waters can be an effective measure to dismantle criminal networks and reduce the flow of drugs into the United States. However, it is also important that these operations be conducted with precision and respect for international law to avoid unnecessary conflicts. The fight against drug trafficking requires a comprehensive approach that includes not only military actions but also intelligence efforts, international cooperation, and prevention in the countries of origin. The security of the country and the protection of its citizens must be priorities, but always considering the ethical and diplomatic implications of these operations.
