Following an extensive restoration process spanning several years, the tomb of Pharaoh Amenhotep III has been reopened to visitors, according to reports from NTB. On Saturday, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism, Sherif Faty, officially presented the renovated tomb—dating back more than 3,000 years—to members of the press.
Mohamed Ismail Khaled, head of Egypt’s antiquities authority, explained that the tomb’s condition had deteriorated so significantly that it required over twenty years of meticulous restoration work to preserve and prepare it for public access. Amenhotep III, who ruled during the 18th Dynasty, is regarded as one of ancient Egypt’s most prominent pharaohs, and his tomb is considered an important archaeological site.
