The comparison between Ethereum and BitTorrent seems very apt to me because it reflects how a decentralized network can transform entire industries. Personally, I think Vitalik Buterin's idea aims to show that, just as BitTorrent revolutionized file sharing, Ethereum is changing the way we conceive of finance and digital applications. What's interesting is that both projects share a basic principle: eliminating intermediaries and empowering users directly. For me, the most relevant aspect is that Ethereum isn't limited to being a cryptocurrency; it functions as a platform that allows for building solutions in multiple areas, from DeFi to NFTs. Ultimately, the comparison with BitTorrent helps us understand that we are facing a technology that, although still evolving, has the potential to redefine how we interact with the digital economy.
