Running ads is one sure shot way to drive sales, but of you are doing it on a regular basis it can be very expensive. The more you spend on advertising, the higher will be your cost price, and you will have to accommodate it on your selling price. If your selling price goes up, you may lose customers, especially the price sensitive customers. Keeping your prices lower than your competitors is very important but ad expenses will stop this from happening.

Yes, excess of anything is bad. And the same holds with advertising. Running ads actually is costly. And if you are sending more on advertisement, your cost to business will increase. And to compensate for that, one has increase the price of the product or services. Consumers are never happy about increase in price. These days people have option to skip the ad. If the same ad keeps coming again and again, it can be annoying to the consumers too. And if there is an option, they skip it at the earliest possible.

This is one of the reason i like test ad in meta and Google adwords. You have to test a particular ad and see the conversation rate. Modern advertising companies have modernise advertising that makes it easy to stay within your budget.

Too much of advertising has one serious drawback. I can say that from my viewpoint as a consumer. When I see the same ad coming again and again, it not only annoys me, it also makes me wonder if the product is not doing well and needs to do so much to push it on the consumers. If it's a new business, over advertising still makes sense. But after a while, it might be sending all the wrong signals.
