According to the report, a Swiss firm is entering the counter-drone market with its own take on explosive bullets, introducing a multi-effect concept compatible with 7.62mm and 5.56mm cartridges. Thun-based SwissP Defense unveiled SHATTER4K, a self-destructing projectile that splits into four effectors after leaving the barrel. It flies toward its target at a slight angle, reportedly boosting the chance of hitting fast-moving drones.
The report stated that SHATTER4K works with standard service rifles and machine guns with no modifications needed. Unlike similar systems on the market, the company said its counter-drone bullets reduce barrel wear and limit collateral damage.
SwissP's chief executive officer said that accidental damage is reduced and the probability of hitting the target is increased. Their philosophy is to offer effective solutions, not experimental concepts. SwissP Defense engineered the projectile to split its effectors strategically, describing it as precise imprecision.
The report said that SwissP wanted to achieve predictable and reproducible dispersion of the ammunition to increase the probability of hitting fast-moving targets such as drones, the company’s development head stated.
Additionally, the official added that the design also ensures the smallest possible and most predictable ballistic footprint, maintaining effectiveness while limiting off-target effects. It added that the counter-drone ammo was presented during the EnforceTac 2026 event in Nuremberg.
