Fake WalletConnect Apps

A fake app called WallConnect was recently discovered on GooglePlay that resembles the original WalletConnect app, this mobile app functions to connect crypto wallets with decentralized apps (dApps), where users are asked to authorize crypto transactions, so that fraudsters can easily steal important information from users' crypto wallets. Unfortunately, the new app was discovered after operating for more than 5 months or since March 2024. During more than 5 months of operation, the fake WallConnect app stole more than $70k from 150 users.

This is really terrible. People have to be really careful with this crypto thing so that they would not be defrauded.
