Fast scaling or slow and steady growth which is better?

When it comes to running or building a business, everyone wants fast growth, but between fast growth or in a situation where the business slowly grows, which is better? I feel slow growth usually have a well grounded foundation compared to fast growth.

Steady growth is better because one has the access and control over their business growth in sustainability.

I prefer to grow my business slow and steadily. That way, my knowledge about the business grows at the same pace as the business.

You always need to execute quickly, so this is a bit of an oxymoron. It makes more sense when viewed through lens of burn rate.

Cash is king. What kills startups is running out of it. You quit as you can’t afford to go on. You need to balance burn and milestone achievement.
Always be lean, but be cheap as chips till you have the illusive ‘product market fit.’

I have ran a business for years now and have grown gradually. I don't want unnecessary fast growth for my business. It comes with lots of pressure.

Well for me I would prefer slow and steady as this does it better. It would grow at a rate that you can control
