According to the report, Ukraine may soon acquire its own ballistic missiles, similar to the ATACMS missile. Work on the FP-7 and FP-9 missiles is currently ongoing. At the same time, Ukrainian missiles should be cheaper, according to Iryna Terekh and Denis Shtilerman, co-founders of the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, in an interview with DW.
The report stated that the FP-7 missile is intended to replace the ATACMS. It will have a range of up to 300 km and carry a small warhead. However, the FP-9 will be more powerful, with a range of 800-850 km and a warhead weighing up to 800 kg. According to Denis Shtilerman, such a missile will be capable of hitting Moscow or St. Petersburg. He said that they were currently conducting testing because there were some major organizational issues. They've already been resolved, and we're now in the final testing phase, noted Fire Point's co-founder. According to him, the company hopes that all tests will be completed by February.
