The report said that in a display of faith, Catholic devotees in the northern Philippine province of Pampanga were nailed to wooden crosses on Good Friday (April 18), re-enacting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The ceremony took place in the Cutud village, north of Manila. Participants had two-inch nails, sterilised in alcohol, hammered through their hands and feet. Ropes and fabric were used to support their bodies as they were raised on wooden crosses during the ceremony.
These people who nailed themselves to the cross are doing this every Good Friday. It is their faith and decision, so we have to respect their beliefs and decisions. They want to atone for the sins they have committed by sacrificing. Who knows, Father God amuses them.
