According to the report, South Korea's tolerance is decreasing as North Korea's agreements with Russia deepen. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said that his country is ready to respond in alliance with the US if North Korea attempts a nuclear attack against i

According to the US magazine, Yoon said that South Korea can rely on US nuclear weapons to defend the country and does not need its nuclear weapons. Yoon attracted all attention with the following statement: I believe that it would be illogical for them to decide to launch a nuclear attack against the Republic of Korea, and if they make such a decision, the nuclear-based ROK-US alliance will immediately strike North Korea with a US nuclear weapon.

The report said that North Korea demonstrated its military might on Oct. 31 by testing a large new solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile called the Hwasong-19, following accusations by Washington and Seoul that it deployed troops to aid Russia in Ukraine. Yoon, a conservative, has taken a tougher stance than his recent predecessors on North Korea, which continues to develop its arsenal of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles despite United Nations Security Council resolutions.Seoul aims to continue improving relations with Washington, building on the 70-year security alliance that has been refocused since former U.S. President Donald Trump was re-elected to the White House.

The report also said that the two Koreas are technically still at war after their 1950-53 war ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty. All this has been a significant development. Japan's defense minister said North Korea had launched at least seven short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast. The statement came just hours before the U.S. elections, just days after Pyongyang condemned military exercises by its rivals. The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has condemned drills involving the U.S., Japan, and South Korea.

The report added that Japanese defense minister General Nakatani said the seven missiles reached an altitude of 100 km (62 miles) and covered a range of 400 km before falling into the ocean, outside Japan's exclusive economic zone. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles were fired at around 7:30 a.m. (10:30 p.m. Monday) from near Sariwon in North Hwanghae Province. The US military said the US was consulting closely with South Korea, Japan, and other regional allies after the launches and was continuing to monitor the situation.

The latest launches came after North Korea tested a massive new solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile called the Hwasong-19 last week, and came just hours before voting in the US presidential election began. Yang Moo-jin, president of the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul, said: If the ICBMs are for the US, the latest ballistic missiles are for South Korea. Directly, it is a protest against joint air exercises by South Korea, the US, and Japan. Indirectly, it is a last-minute demonstration of their presence ahead of the US presidential election, Yang said, and it is also aimed at diverting the international community's attention from criticism of the North Korean troops being sent to Russia

.North Korean state television KCNA reported that Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of leader Kim Jong Un, condemned recent military exercises by the United States, Japan and South Korea as threats, saying they justified North Korea’s buildup of nuclear weapons. The attempted missile launch came after Russian President Vladimir Putin unexpectedly met with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui on Monday. The two shook hands for a minute during Putin’s surprise meeting with Choe in the Kremlin, amid growing concerns in the West that North Korean troops could join Moscow in the Ukraine war. The US accused Russia and China of "shamelessly" protecting and encouraging North Korea to further violate UN sanctions by advancing its ballistic missile, nuclear, and weapons of mass destruction programs in a speech to the UN Security Council the other day.

In addition to the report, South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said late last month that North Korea "will try to exaggerate its presence during the US presidential election period, before and after the election, with shows of force such as an intercontinental missile test or another nuclear test."
