Has anyone here lost any item due to theft? If yes, was the item stolen from your home when you were away, or from you while outdoors . How do you handle the financial losses which are caused due to theft ?

Financial losses caused by theft?

Fortunately, I have not experienced this. In any case, I do not keep a lot of money or valuable items at home. I have a safe deposit box in a bank. Should that happen to me, I may still report to the police.
In most cases the, losses that are caused by the theft are definitely a burden to the people being affected if at all they are not covered by the insurance.

Yes I have lost an item at home before. I went out, only to come back and see my room window open and my phone was missing.

Many years ago, our family experienced this kind of experience. Our house helper stole my mom's jewelry and then promptly abandoned our home. Since that happened, we decided not to hire another house helper again.
