Florida State University shooting latest: suspect is son of sheriff's deputy

According to the latest report, two people were killed and six people were injured by a shooter at the Florida State University (FSU) Student Union building in Tallahassee, FL Thursday, law enforcement said. The information contained in our extended coverage from our 6 p.m. newscast may be subject to change as the story develops.

It's so sad , that it's not the first time some of the students experienced a mass shooting. My deepest sympathy to the victims families and my prayers goes out to ALL FSU students, faculty and friends and especially their families. Being the Sheriff's son, will they arrest and sentence the sheriff for this? Killed were young innocent kids. May they rest in peace and justice be prevailed.

Look at the face of the killer, he looks like an abnormal person. He should not have been born. I pity those he killed, innocent and never expected to end their lives that way, in horror.

it irks sometimes that one can kill another. You kill the next person just like that and killers always wants to live and I wonder why ?

If it's truly the son of the sheriff, then that explains how the shooter got access to a gun, anyways proper investigation should be carried out.

The killer is now in jail, awaiting sentence for his crime. The gun he used was owned by his stepmother, and not by his father. The killer was a racist.

Good that he was apprehended and Would soon be tried. He needs to pay for his crime

He needs to pay the crime he committed to the innocent victims. Their dreams to live too long were shattered because of this senseless killer. I hope he will be sentence to death. It's also good if he'll be sentenced to life imprisonment so he could taste life without freedom.

Hopefully those handling the case would do this without any biaes or favoritism. He should be punished if found guilty

Killing is a crime, and the criminal is guilty. The criminal is now in jail awaiting his final verdict from the court. Hoping he will be charged with a death sentence.
