Ford recalls over 200,000 US vehicles

Ford is currently making headlines in the United States after recalling more than 200,000 vehicles. Reports indicate that a defect in the parking assist system in certain models could cause the vehicles to roll off the road and lose control, which could lead to accidents.

The affected vehicles include the 2022 to 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning All-Electric (BEV), the 2024 to 2026 Mustang Mach-E and the 2025 to 2026 Maverick. The defect could prevent the vehicle from locking properly when parked.

Ford said it will send a free software update online or to authorized dealers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) approved the move, saying the update will improve driver safety. This large-scale memo shows that a small software problem can lead to a major accident down the road.
