Foreign airlines to stop selling tickets with dollars in Nigeria

On recent news, the federal government plans to end the sales of ticket in dollars by foreign airlines. This is coming directly from the office of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA)

That's good . I don't understand the use of dollars when we can pay in naira. Even in Nigeria some companies sell in dollars.

That should be done in the past. Why do the airlines charge with the Nigerians in dollars when you have your own currency. The answer is obvious, they're milking the Nigerian passengers. Thankfully, the NANTA finally awaken.

Selling international air tickets to Nigerians in dollars puts pressure on the local currency and causes high demand for dollars.

I don't even know what Nigeria was thinking in the first place to allow the use of dollars all these while.

That is good news for the Nigerians. The use of Naira in booking for the tickets is better of especially in the way it increase some adoption for the currency in a matter of fact for sure.

That way those who will fly domestically and internationally can save much. If it wasn't acted most likely, many will suffer.
