Hey everyone!
Sometimes we think of certain skills as “old-fashioned” or not really useful anymore… until one day, they suddenly come in handy—or we discover that we actually enjoy them. These could be things our parents or grandparents taught us, or even random skills we picked up along the way that most people don’t practice anymore.
For me, it’s pottery. I’m not an expert, but I’ve always preferred using clay pots for our plants. Since my mother is a big plant lover—often called a plantita here—she gave me her full support in pursuing this not-so-popular but beautiful hobby. My pots weren’t perfect, but they worked and lasted a long time compared to plastic ones that often crack easily. During the pandemic, even our neighbors started asking for them, and I was able to earn a little from my not-so-perfect pottery skills.
How about you? What’s a forgotten skill that surprisingly came in handy in your life—and do you see yourself turning it into a business?
