On websites or social media, we often read bad news about an investment instrument put forward by whales, famous people or government officials, for example Bitcoin will be worthless. This is an example of FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt). So basically FUD is a strategy to lower prices by spreading negative news, with the aim of instilling fear in retail investors so that they sell the investment instruments they own and of course the spreaders of negative news will be able to buy investment instruments at cheap prices.
