On Thursday, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) reported a rare outbreak of highly dangerous H7N5 bird flu on a farm in western Germany, close the Dutch border.

The outbreak killed 6,000 birds out of a flock of 90,879 in Bad Bentheim, Lower Saxony, according to Paris-based WOAH, citing a German government study. It was found on June 29, and confirmed on July 2.
