Ghana Receives West Africans Deported from the United States

The first group of 14 West African nationals deported from the United States has arrived in Ghana, following an agreement between the two countries regarding the reception of individuals expelled from the US.

According to Ghanaian President John Mahama, the United States approached Ghana with a request to accept citizens from third countries in West Africa who were being deported. President Mahama stated on Wednesday that Ghana agreed to receive these individuals, provided they were from the West African region.

This arrangement is facilitated by a regional agreement that allows for visa-free travel among several West African nations. President Mahama explained that the initial group, which included several Nigerian nationals, has already arrived in Ghana. After their arrival, these individuals continued on to their respective home countries.

Most of the countries are strictly following it and deporting people from their country and rightly so.

At least, that is a peaceful acceptance of the deportees from the USA. Life is not easy in the USA if stay there illegally.

But why can't they sent directly to their countries, that's one part I don't understand, is there a reason to this?
