Google is replacing Google Assistant with Gemini

Google Assistant will be phased out in 2025 and replaced by Gemini, a more advanced AI offering multimodal conversations and deep research. Is it necessary? Do you use Google Assistant? If so, for what purpose?

Gemini sounds interesting if it can combine text, images, and research into a single conversation. That could make it genuinely useful instead of just an extra gadget. I think for power users, it might be worth switching, but for casual users like me, only time will tell if it’s necessary, or if it’s just a new name with slightly better tricks.
